Python language was developed by Guido van Rossum in 1989 while working at ‘Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) at Netherland.

Guido van Rossum from Netherland is still alive and working with Microsoft. In 80s the programming language name “ABC Programming” was available and he found mistakes in it and modified the new programming language name “Python”.

 

How the name Python was kept?

Python name was kept after inspired from an old comedy TV show named “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” which was broadcasted in BBC from 1969 to 1974 approx., which was liked by him. Hence he decided and kept name Python as he liked a short and unique name.

 

How he started his research for python?

Generally Guido van Rossum was on Christmas leave that movement but he don’t won’t to spend his leaves empty and wont to do some work on leaves also. Hence he utilized his leaves and started some research in “CWI Lab” “Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica” at Netherlands.
He was motivated by ABC Programming Language. He started his research on “APC Programming” and corrected some mistakes and started to develop a new programming language on his leaves.
Finally, in 1991, officially Python was made available to public on dated 20th Feb 1991.
The Predecessor of Python programming language is ABC Programming Language.
